In classical prosody, a line in which the first four feet are either dactylic or spondaic, the fifth dactylic, and the sixth spondaic.

I've always been interested in fractured, demented, asymmetrical, incongruous textures, and indeed what I call “dysprosody” – the prosody of distressed sounds.

Prosody is also influenced by word order.

One possible answer is prosody, the patterns of rhythm in speech.

But the number that are fit for verse, in terms of both meaning and prosody, is much smaller.

And pronunciation work, prosody, which is intonation, rhythm, and stress, are definitely going to help you with that.

It's the prosody of English where less important words, AKA function words, are reduced to allow the important words to stick out.

Now, when you learn pronunciation and prosody, focus on reductions, focus on the difference between the stressed words and the unstressed words.

So practicing your own pronunciation, practicing reductions yourself, learning prosody – which is intonation, rhythm, stress, all of that, the melody of the language, how we reduce words.
